Vivo Energy Uganda has unveiled its latest initiative, the ‘Simbula ne Rimula R3X’ campaign, targeting commercial vehicles with older diesel engines, including taxis, lorries, trucks, and buses.
The campaign introduces the Shell Rimula R3X 20W-50 API CH-4 lubricant, designed to meet the evolving needs of these vehicles by offering triple-action protection against heat, engine wear, and deposit formation, ultimately prolonging engine life.

According to Joanita Menya, Managing Director at Vivo Energy Uganda, the lubricant is specifically formulated to address the demands of heavy-duty engines, ensuring long-term performance and reliability.
“Our aim is to provide enhanced protection that will help keep vehicles on the road for longer, benefiting drivers and business owners alike,” she said.
The ‘Simbula ne Rimula R3X’ campaign also comes with a rewards program, offering over 7,000 commercial drivers the chance to win prizes worth more than UGX 200 million. This initiative is expected to drive significant engagement from the commercial transport sector.
Francis Kayoki, Lubricants Manager at Vivo Energy Uganda, emphasized the importance of transitioning to high-performance lubricants in line with updated Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) recommendations.

He noted that the new Shell Rimula R3X not only meets these standards but also delivers superior fuel efficiency and engine protection. “It’s an ideal solution for older engines in vehicles like taxis, Elf, and Sino trucks, providing great value at an affordable price,” Kayoki explained.
Rebecca Nassiwa, Lubricants Brand Manager, added that Vivo Energy Uganda remains committed to innovation and customer satisfaction.
“Shell Rimula R3X’s triple-action protection ensures engines last longer and perform more efficiently, keeping drivers on the road and helping them earn more,” she said.
