As Uganda heads into a tense electoral season, the Uganda Police Force has released a comprehensive list of updated emergency contact numbers, urging the public to familiarize themselves with the lines to ensure fast, reliable assistance during crises.
Speaking during a community and media engagement session in Kampala, Superintendent of Police, Aisha Kayongo,in the Directorate of the Political Commissar, emphasized the importance of timely communication between citizens and law enforcement—whether dealing with emergencies such as murder, traffic incidents, or general disturbances.
Police highlighted their 999 Patrol Platform, which coordinates with patrol vehicles stationed across Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) divisions. These hotlines connect directly to the police call center and to field commanders for immediate response.
The numbers, +256 800 300 102 and +256 800 122 291 are managed at the Police Headquarters and the Central Police Station (CPS) Kampala.
The police also unveiled the hotlines for SIMBA Operations, the central command responsible for coordinating national patrol vehicles and rapid response, +256 800 199 699, 0776 999 136 and 0707 600 073

Authorities assured the public that calling any of these lines will trigger immediate response from the national operations center.
Citizens were further urged to use the designated lines for specific emergencies:Child Protection, Professional Standards Unit, Fire & Rescue contacts will also be updated on official police channels.
Police encouraged the public to take advantage of multiple digital platforms where verified contact numbers will be posted.
These include:the Official Police Website: police.go.ug, X-(formally Twitter), Facebook, TikTok. Police Mobi App, available on Play Store, which automatically locates the nearest police station and provides direct contact numbers.
With increased political activity, authorities cautioned that misinformation and delayed reporting could put communities at risk. The newly released contacts aim to close these gaps, allowing citizens to access assistance without hurdles.
“When a caller reaches one of the designated numbers, they are asked for their exact location and directions. The operator relays the information to the nearest patrol vehicle—either from the station or already in the field—ensuring the quickest possible route to the scene,” said Kayongo.
“For instance, a caller dialing +256 800 300 102 will immediately be guided through the reporting process, enabling responders to locate the scene and take appropriate action,”she noted.
With the election period intesified the Uganda Police Force is urging the public to save the updated contacts, verify numbers through official platforms, and keep communication open.
“We are more than ready, to respond.”
