Kampala’s business community is once again raising questions over the operations of Alliance in Motion Global after police rescued 47 young people allegedly trafficked under the guise of online job opportunities.
The Territorial Police at Nsangi on Wednesday confirmed it had intercepted a suspected human-trafficking ring involving Dream Visionaries, a company said to be operating under Alliance in Motion Global.
The victims—aged 16 to 30—were reportedly recruited from districts including Mbarara, Bushenyi, Kabale, Ntungamo, Mityana and parts of Busoga.

According to police, the recruits were promised online employment after completing financial literacy training. However, intelligence from an escapee led officers to a camp where the group was being held.
Investigators say the company charged each recruit a registration fee of Shs150,000 before confining them in small rooms, confiscating their phones for six days, and later compelling them to call family members to demand Shs1.5 million as “start-up capital.”
The revelations have amplified concerns from analysts and business observers about the growing number of pyramid-style schemes operating under the guise of multi-level marketing companies in Kampala.
Alliance in Motion Global, which has previously faced scrutiny over its business recruitment practices, now finds itself at the centre of renewed debate on regulatory oversight, consumer protection and business ethics in the direct-selling industry.
Police say efforts to arrest the director of Dream Visionaries are underway, and investigations will extend to the parent business structure. Authorities are also engaging regulators to assess whether the company’s recruitment and financial practices violate Uganda’s laws governing labour, business licensing and investment promotion.
The 47 rescued youths are currently receiving support and further management at Nsangi Police Division as inquiries deepen into a case that is likely to intensify calls for more stringent monitoring of recruitment-based business models in the city.
