Uganda Airlines has announced the reinstatement of its long-haul flights to London and Mumbai following a short disruption that affected international travelers earlier this month.
In a travel advisory issued on March 5, the national carrier confirmed that the intercontinental services will resume on March 7, restoring two of its most important international routes.
The airline said the move comes after temporary operational challenges that forced a pause in its long-haul schedule. The interruption created uncertainty for passengers traveling between Uganda and key global destinations, particularly business travelers, tourists and members of the Ugandan diaspora.
According to the airline, the reinstated flights will help stabilize its international schedule while maintaining passenger confidence in the reliability of its long-distance services.
“We are pleased to announce the reinstatement of our long-haul operations to London, United Kingdom and Mumbai, India effective March 7, 2026,” the airline said in the statement.
The London route connects travelers to one of Europe’s busiest global aviation hubs, while the Mumbai service remains a critical travel corridor linking Uganda to India’s commercial and medical sectors. Many Ugandans travel to Mumbai for specialized medical treatment as well as trade-related activities.
However, the airline indicated that flights to Dubai are still under operational review. Passengers have been advised to monitor updates through the airline’s website and official social media channels.
To support travelers whose journeys were affected during the disruption, Uganda Airlines said it is offering free ticket revalidation for guests booked on impacted long-haul flights.
The airline also thanked passengers for their patience and continued loyalty during the temporary interruption to its international operations.
