The Uganda Police Force has confirmed the arrest of one of its officers captured on video assaulting a female petrol station attendant at a Shell outlet.

According to a statement released by police, preliminary investigations identified the suspect as ASP Nsiima, a serving officer. The statement noted that the officer has since been apprehended and detained in police custody pending further investigations.
“We condemn this behaviour as it contravenes our disciplinary code,” police said, adding that the force is committed to ensuring the officer is brought to account once investigations are complete.
Authorities confirmed they have contacted the victim and key witnesses to support the ongoing probe.
The police leadership reiterated its stance against acts of violence and misconduct among its ranks, emphasizing that such behaviour undermines public trust and the institution’s integrity.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, is receiving support as investigations continue.
Those who allegedly know him have fully identified him as ASP Clive Nsiima Barigye.
