Pearl Bank (formerly PostBank) has capped off a strong year of transformation and achievement with another milestone — winning the Banking Services General Banking Accolade at the 2025 Financial Reporting (FiRe) Awards, held at Hotel Africana under the theme “Sustainability Practices and Reporting in Uncertain Global Times.”
The FiRe Awards, introduced in 2011 by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU), the Capital Markets Authority (CMA), and the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE), celebrate excellence in financial reporting, transparency, and accountability.
Over the years, the Awards have become a benchmark for corporate governance and reporting discipline among Ugandan institutions.
Pearl Bank’s Chief Financial Officer, Peter Ssenyange, said the accolade reflects the institution’s deep commitment to transparency and stakeholder engagement.
“The FiRe Awards challenge us to uphold best practices not just in financial reporting but in how we manage accountability daily. It’s about showcasing performance while building trust with shareholders and the public,” he noted.
The recognition adds to a growing list of honours for Pearl Bank. Earlier this year, Ssenyange himself won CFO of the Year and the Sustainability Award at the 2025 CFO Awards, while the Bank also attained a Sustainability Certification in Germany — signaling a serious commitment to sustainable finance and governance.
As it transitions into Pearl Bank, the institution’s focus remains clear: Driving Sustainable Financial Inclusion and Stimulating Entrepreneurship and Service. These priorities are anchored in its five-year strategic plan aimed at “fostering prosperity for Ugandans.”
Pearl Bank’s consistent recognition in both governance and sustainability spaces indicates its growing reputation as one of Uganda’s most transparent and forward-looking financial institutions — a crucial benchmark in an era where accountability and ESG performance define investor confidence.
