As the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 progressed through its final stages, smartphone brand TECNO extended the tournament experience beyond stadiums and television screens by rolling out a continent-wide series of technology-driven fan activations.
As the Official Global Partner of AFCON 2025, TECNO organised Technology Carnival activations and offline watching parties across multiple African countries, blending live football, artificial intelligence and consumer technology in shared public spaces. The activations launched alongside the tournament and ran throughout the competition period until 18 January 2026, coinciding with key matchdays and fan moments.

Across North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and major AFCON markets, fans gathered at TECNO-hosted venues to watch live matches, participate in interactive experiences and engage directly with the brand’s AI-powered devices. The events were staged in retail locations, pop-up venues and community spaces, offering fans hands-on access to TECNO smartphones and its broader AI ecosystem.
The activations featured live match screenings alongside interactive product demonstrations, AI-driven insights into match play, performance shows, games and prize draws. According to TECNO, the goal was to show how AI-enhanced mobile technology can deepen fan engagement by helping supporters better understand match dynamics, capture key moments and share their reactions in real time.
Visitors were able to test smartphone features designed to enhance image clarity, video capture and real-time analysis, positioning AI as a practical tool rather than an abstract concept. TECNO said this approach aimed to make football consumption more immersive and emotionally connected, particularly in markets where mobile devices play a central role in accessing content.
Running alongside the offline viewing events, TECNO also deployed AFCON-themed retail activations in multiple countries. These in-store experiences tied the tournament into everyday shopping routines, using interactive challenges, AI-powered match analysis features and promotional mechanics to keep fans engaged even outside match hours.
By embedding football culture into retail environments and community spaces, TECNO sought to sustain AFCON momentum throughout the tournament, rather than limiting engagement to matchdays alone. The company said the activations reflected its broader strategy of integrating technology into lifestyle experiences that resonate with local audiences.
As an official partner of the Confederation of African Football, TECNO activated across stadiums, fan zones, retail outlets and public spaces, positioning the tournament as both a sporting event and a shared cultural moment.
As AFCON 2025 drew to a close, the Technology Carnival emerged as a demonstration of how mobile technology and AI can be used to turn football fandom into a more participatory and connected experience across the continent.
