President Yoweri Museveni has issued a warning to leaders whom he accuses of misguiding the public and diverting attention from critical national priorities such as wealth creation.
The President expressed his dissatisfaction with the persistent distraction from issues central to Uganda’s socio-economic growth.
“I am really not happy with the people who divert our people’s attention. I am tired of the misleaders of our people, and they should check themselves or I will check them,” President Museveni stated.
This latest caution reflects Museveni’s long-standing focus on economic empowerment and development as pivotal goals for the nation. He emphasized that any leadership failing to align with these priorities hampers progress and misleads citizens.
The President’s remarks underline his resolve to ensure that national efforts remain directed toward fostering economic stability and prosperity.
Museveni’s comments come amidst various socio-political debates within the country, concerning the dissolution of the Uganda Coffee Development Authority that has been viewed by some leaders as an attack against the Buganda region, which some analysts suggest could be contributing to divisions and shifting attention from practical development agendas.
The President’s warning signals that actions may be taken to address leaders seen as counterproductive to national unity and economic progress.
