Lawyer and politician Elias Luyimbazi Nalukoola was officially sworn in today as the Member of Parliament for Kawempe North in a grand ceremony at Parliament.
Taking the oath of office before fellow legislators, Nalukoola vowed to serve his constituents diligently, uphold justice, and advocate for better governance. In his maiden address, he emphasized the need for accountability, transparency, and economic development.
The newly sworn-in MP pledged to push for the devolution of power from City Hall to Kampala’s divisions, arguing that this would help address challenges affecting residents more effectively.
“Bringing governance closer to the people is key to solving the pressing issues in our communities,” Nalukoola stated.
Jubilant crowds celebrated outside Parliament, chanting slogans of hope. Analysts say his leadership could bring significant reforms to Kawempe North.
As he assumes office, all eyes are on Nalukoola to fulfill his promises and deliver tangible change.
