In a notable development on Masindi’s political landscape, Moses Kirya, the current District Speaker, has officially announced his bid for the position of LCV Chairperson.
Kirya brings to the race nearly 20 years of public service experience, including a decade as District Speaker and 15 years as a councilor representing Karujubu Division. His long-standing involvement in local governance, he believes, has prepared him to steer the district toward meaningful development.
“I have served my community in various capacities, and my tenure as District Speaker has equipped me with the leadership skills and institutional knowledge necessary to manage the affairs of our district effectively,” Kirya said during a press briefing held at his office on Friday. “What Masindi needs now is a tested and proven leader—not one who is still learning the ropes.”
Kirya emphasized that his campaign will focus on enhancing service delivery throughout the district. His key priorities include lobbying for increased funding for road construction, improving health centers, strengthening the collaboration between the district council and executive, and recovering lost district assets for the public good.
“My goal is to ensure that every resident of Masindi has access to quality services and reliable infrastructure,” he stated. “With more funding, we can make substantial progress in sectors that are vital to the district’s growth.”
As he kicks off his campaign, Kirya is calling on the people of Masindi to rally behind his vision for a progressive and well-governed district.
“With your support, we can work together to bring about the change our community truly deserves,” he affirmed.
Kirya’s candidacy is underpinned by a wealth of experience and a deep-rooted commitment to public service—qualities he believes make him a strong contender for the LCV Chairperson role. His vision for Masindi is anchored in progress, inclusivity, and sustainable development for all residents.
