The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has announced the appointment of Juliana Kaggwa as its new Chief Executive Officer, ushering in a new era for the country’s tourism sector.
Kaggwa, an accomplished professional with a strong background in marketing and strategic leadership, officially assumed her role on Tuesday.
Her appointment comes at a time when Uganda is intensifying efforts to revitalize its tourism industry following the global downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kaggwa is expected to lead the charge in repositioning Uganda as a top tourist destination in Africa, leveraging its rich cultural heritage, biodiversity, and scenic landscapes.
Prior to joining UTB, Kaggwa served as the Corporate Affairs and Marketing Director at Uganda Breweries Limited, where she was instrumental in driving brand growth and stakeholder engagement.
Industry experts have welcomed her appointment, citing her dynamic leadership style and experience in corporate strategy as valuable assets for the tourism sector.
Speaking after her appointment, Kaggwa expressed gratitude and enthusiasm for the opportunity to serve. “I am honored to lead the UTB at such a pivotal time. Together with stakeholders, we will elevate Uganda’s tourism profile on the global stage,” she said.
Her tenure begins immediately.
