dfcu Bank has announced the launch of the second phase of its partnership with the Uganda Green Enterprise Finance Accelerator (UGEFA), deepening its commitment to advancing Uganda’s transition to a sustainable green economy.
The initiative, unveiled at Protea Hotel in Kampala, emphasizes the bank’s strategy of placing green finance at the center of its operations by providing tailored financial solutions to small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in clean energy, sustainable tourism, waste management, green mobility, and green manufacturing.

The partnership, supported by the European Union and implemented by adelphi global gGmbH, goes beyond financing by offering capacity building and business development support to ensure the long-term success of green enterprises.
Through this collaboration, dfcu Bank aims to empower SMEs to scale their innovations while contributing to environmental protection and economic resilience.
Helena Mayanja, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at dfcu Bank, emphasized that sustainability is integral to the bank’s mission of transforming lives and businesses. She noted that the partnership with UGEFA is unlocking opportunities for SMEs to thrive responsibly while safeguarding the environment for future generations.

Representing the European Union, Cristina Bănuţă, Programme Manager for Access to Finance, Agribusiness and Land, said the collaboration highlights the impact of aligning private sector commitment with international support, creating opportunities for inclusive growth and sustainable transformation.
Christine Meyer, Project Lead at UGEFA, added that the renewed partnership will broaden opportunities for innovative enterprises that are creating jobs and driving Uganda’s green future.
Green enterprises are now invited to apply through the UGEFA website to benefit from technical assistance, tailored financing, and business development support made possible through this partnership.
