Emirates has announced the deployment of its next-generation A350 aircraft to Entebbe, marking the debut of the aircraft type in Uganda and expanding the airline’s Premium Economy footprint across its global network.
Effective 29 March, flights EK729/730 between Dubai and Entebbe will be operated by the Emirates A350 as part of the carrier’s ongoing fleet modernisation programme.
The move introduces Ugandan travellers to the airline’s latest cabin product and enhances connectivity on the route.
The Emirates A350 is configured in a three-class layout with capacity for 298 passengers, including 32 next-generation Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats and 238 Economy Class seats.
The aircraft features upgraded cabin interiors and improved fuel efficiency, aligning with the airline’s strategy to deliver a more consistent onboard experience across its network.
The Entebbe deployment forms part of a broader global rollout that will see Emirates’ Premium Economy network expand to 99 destinations by the end of 2026. The airline is also advancing its retrofit programme, with the first high-density two-class A380 set to be reconfigured into a three-class layout by mid-April.
The upgraded A380 will feature 76 Business Class seats, 56 Premium Economy seats and 437 Economy Class seats. It will initially operate flights between Dubai and Amman from 14 April before transitioning to services to Prague in June. By November, Emirates expects to have completed the retrofit of all 15 of its two-class A380 aircraft.
Additional upgrades are planned across Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean, including enhanced services to New York, Zurich, Milan, Dublin, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Basra and Mauritius.
The A350 launch in Entebbe underscores Emirates’ long-term commitment to the Ugandan market and strengthens the country’s air links to global destinations via Dubai.
