As pressure mounts on our beloved King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, of Tooro Kingdom, to find himself a queen, in the not-so-distant future, we are cognizant that firstly, he is an African Man and secondly, a King of a mighty people.
Many stakeholders including the Bishop Kisembo Reuben, of the Rwenzori Diocese, have made loud calls urging the King to find a wife quickly as he is of age.
However, we at The Highflyer Report want to believe that the King knows what he wants and is being careful not to embarrass the Royal Family and the Kingdom, in making hush decisions such as choice of a marriage partner.
Therefore, as “Friends of Tooro” we have come up with a list of qualities that at least the queen must possess, to ensure that the King is happy and that the Kingdom continues to develop.
1.A lady that cooks.
We all know that a real African man wants to taste his wife’s food and also being that the King’s health and life is paramount, his wife should be able to cook for him as and when he craves for traditional dishes. Young woman, we shall not defend you if we happen to find the King munching on a Rolex or KFC!
2.She must Speak Rutooro
Whenever the queen is communicating to subjects, we expect to hear Rutooro and not English. Secondly, it is heart-breaking to hear English apart from our local dialect while addressing visitors in the Karuziika Palace. Besides, how does she address the women and young ladies in the Kingdom while on the ground supervising her projects?
3.Have emotional restraint
Once in a while if her husband annoys her, we do not expect her to pick up a glass bottle or even a knife to hurt the King. How does our King appear in public with a swollen red eye; or take it this way, how do we cope with the news that the King is fighting for his life in hospital as a result of a bloody fight with his wife? Let me not even mention of a gun-shot wound, just like the Molly Katanga scenario. Young lady, if you are not a naturally calm person, stay away from our King.
4.Independence.
In as much as a man should provide for his wife, having your own businesses or money-making projects is a noble thing. Please do not demand for money for hair, nails, make up, sauna among others all the time like as if the King is your ATM. If you happen to be a fresh graduate, at least your head should be intelligent enough to understand the King’s vision for the Kingdom and you applying your skills to that vision.
5.Caretaking.
There are things that the Queen Mother cannot do anymore but you must do for the King. For example, once he feels unwell, we do not want to see Queen Best taking care of Him! Like dah, what are you doing as a wife? If you are dating him, be humble enough to spend time with the Queen Mother to learn a thing or two about taking care of him so that his mother will have no cause to worry because of you. Otherwise, you will have no future and peace in the palace.
