Jinja’s hotels are filling up fast as the annual Nyege Nyege Festival approaches, set to take place from November 14 to 17.
Many top accommodation providers have reported they are fully booked, a testament to the festival’s popularity and its impact on local tourism.
Nyege Nyege, which draws both local and international music and art enthusiasts, has become a significant economic boost for Jinja, benefiting numerous local businesses, including hotels, restaurants, transportation services, and activity providers such as quad biking and bungee jumping operators.
Adding to this year’s appeal, guests checking into Jinja hotels during the festival will be greeted with a complimentary shot of Uganda Waragi Lemon and Ginger, courtesy of a partnership between the hotels and Uganda Breweries.
This new offering is aimed at giving visitors a taste of Uganda’s vibrant spirit and amplifying the festive atmosphere. Uganda Waragi, a renowned Ugandan brand, is also the title sponsor for the festival, underscoring its commitment to promoting Ugandan culture and experiences.
Francis Nyende, the Marketing Manager of Mainstream Spirits at Uganda Breweries, expressed excitement about this partnership, stating, “Jinja is known for its vibrant hospitality and thrilling experiences, and what better way to complement that than with a taste of Uganda’s premium spirit, Uganda Waragi Lemon and Ginger.
We want every guest to feel the warmth and energy of our country the moment they step into Jinja, and nothing says ‘welcome’ quite like a shot of Uganda Waragi Lemon and Ginger.”
Participating hotels are preparing to make this year’s Nyege Nyege festival memorable, with unique offerings that celebrate the essence of Uganda.
Nyende encouraged festival-goers to fully embrace the experience, explore the scenic charm of Jinja, and savor the adventure activities and rich cultural scenes that make the area a popular destination.
