The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission has dispatched teams to oversee the upcoming village structure and LC1 Chairperson flag bearer elections scheduled for Tuesday, May 6th.
The teams include zonal supervisors and party registrars who will operate from district to village level. Their key mandate is to ensure the delivery of free, fair, and credible elections across the 72,000 NRM polling stations nationwide.
This development follows the conclusion of a week-long expression of interest and nomination exercise, which paved the way for the official start of campaigns by aspirants .
Candidates vying for various positions under the NRM structure are now engaging with voters in their respective areas ahead of the Tuesday vote.

Speaking on behalf of the Secretary-General, NRM Deputy National Treasurer Hon. Jacqueline Kyatuhaire emphasized the party’s commitment to a transparent electoral process.
“The elections will be handled in accordance with the established rules and regulations. We are confident that the teams dispatched today will deliver results without fail,” she said.
The party’s internal elections are a critical step in identifying grassroots leadership and consolidating NRM’s support across the country ahead of national elections.
The Electoral Commission has urged all participants and voters to remain peaceful and adhere to the party’s code of conduct throughout the campaign and election period.
