The annual CDF Inter-Forces Drill Competitions are currently underway at the Kololo Independence Grounds, drawing large crowds as members of Uganda’s armed forces showcase their precision, discipline, and coordination.
The event, now a key fixture on the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) calendar, is aimed at promoting discipline, teamwork, and professionalism across the country’s military and security agencies.

This year’s competitions are being held under the watchful eye of the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who is serving as the chief guest. His presence underscores the growing importance of the event as a unifying and motivational platform for Uganda’s forces.
Spectators, including civilians, have been welcomed to witness the impressive drills and ceremonial parades. Units from the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), police, and other security branches are participating, each demonstrating synchronized formations, marching routines, and tactical drills.

Organizers say the competition not only sharpens operational readiness but also fosters camaraderie among the different forces.
The event continues through the week, with winners set to be recognized for excellence in performance and discipline — attributes seen as vital in modern-day security operations.
