PostBank Uganda has impressed local and regional farmers with its innovative financial solutions during the 31st National Agricultural Show, held from 27th June to 5th July 2025 in Jinja.
The annual event attracted farmers, Agri-entrepreneurs, and stakeholders from across Uganda and beyond, including a 10-member women’s delegation from Kenya and a 3-member team from Zambia.
Themed “Technological Innovations Driving Agricultural Wealth,” this year’s show provided a platform for agricultural stakeholders to explore advancements in farming, financing, and technology. PostBank took the opportunity to spotlight its commitment to rural and inclusive agricultural financing, particularly targeting women-led farming groups and informal cooperatives.
Julius Akais, Supervisor for Agriculture & Partnerships at PostBank, led an interactive training session for 15 women farmer group leaders from various Ugandan districts, alongside the Kenyan and Zambian delegations.

His presentation focused on the bank’s tailor-made products including the Large-Scale Commercial Farmers Scheme (LSCFS), Grow Loans, seasonal loan structures, and ESG-driven assessments under the Agriculture Credit Facility.
“PostBank continues to play a key role in Uganda’s agricultural transformation by supporting rural communities, women-led groups, and informal farmer cooperatives,” Akais said. “Our financing models are designed not only to increase productivity but to foster prosperity among Ugandans.”
The session covered a wide range of products and services such as input financing, mobile and agency banking access, and the Farmers Group Lending Model. Akais emphasized the bank’s efforts to bridge knowledge gaps and encourage wider uptake of agricultural financial products among underserved farming communities.
PostBank’s continued participation in the show reinforces its mission to promote financial inclusion in agriculture. The bank recently earned five awards and 11 certificates at the Bank of Uganda’s Agriculture Credit Facility and Small Business Recovery Fund Awards, cementing its leadership in agri-finance.
The event also fostered collaboration with agro-input suppliers, mechanization dealers, and irrigation providers, reinforcing PostBank’s role as a strategic partner in Uganda’s agricultural development.
