dfcu Bank has strengthened its community engagement and social impact agenda through an outreach program at Conbert Modern Primary School, a long-standing customer situated along Entebbe Road in Abayita Ababiri.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Bank’s Internal Audit Domain in collaboration with the Abayita Ababiri Branch, forms part of dfcu’s enduring corporate social responsibility strategy. It aligns with the Bank’s history of delivering life-changing interventions across Uganda, including its landmark “60 Acts of Kindness” program commemorating six decades of operations.
During the engagement, dfcu staff delivered an interactive career talk, exposing learners to diverse professional pathways and inspiring them to set high goals in academics and personal development. Primary 7 candidates received mathematical sets to aid in their final exam preparations, while teachers were equipped with comprehensive subject guides for Primary 5–7 core subjects to boost lesson delivery.

The outreach also addressed Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) priorities, with donations of classroom and outdoor dustbins to improve waste management, and sanitary pads for female learners to address pressing health and hygiene needs. Additionally, the Bank showcased its digital solutions — including the USSD code *240# and the Mobi Loan product — aimed at helping schools streamline tuition payments, payroll, and operational efficiency.
“Our CSR approach is not about one-off donations; it is about creating lasting impact,” said Grace Buwooza, Chief Internal Auditor at dfcu Bank. “By investing in education, hygiene, and digital skills, we are helping shape the next generation while strengthening the bonds we have with our customers and communities.”
The engagement reinforces dfcu Bank’s position as a leader in corporate citizenship, building on initiatives that empower entrepreneurs, support women-led enterprises, and enhance education and health infrastructure nationwide.
The Bank says it remains committed to integrating social impact into its core business strategy — ensuring that as it grows, communities grow alongside it.
