dfcu Bank, in partnership with Rotary Uganda, has launched a countrywide health outreach initiative aimed at promoting preventive healthcare and improving access to essential medical services for Ugandan communities.
The inaugural dfcu Bank and Rotary Uganda Health Camp, held at St. Paul Church of Uganda in Mbuya, marks the beginning of a three-year partnership between the two institutions. Under this collaboration, dfcu Bank has committed UGX 1 billion to support free medical services, health education, and community outreach programs across Uganda.
This initiative merges dfcu Bank’s long-standing commitment to community development with Rotary Uganda’s legacy of humanitarian service. Both organizations share a vision of transforming lives—dfcu through its purpose of “Transforming Lives and Businesses in Uganda,” and Rotary through its motto, “Service Above Self.”

The launch also coincided with the introduction of dfcu Humanity Day, an annual day of service that will commemorate the Bank’s founding on May 14, 1964. On this day, dfcu employees across the country will engage in community activities such as health camps, education programs, and environmental conservation drives.
Speaking at the event, Charles Mudiwa, CEO of dfcu Bank, said the partnership is indicative of the importance of corporate responsibility and social impact.
“This health camp marks the beginning of a journey that combines the strength of two purpose-driven organizations. Through our partnership with Rotary Uganda, and a UGX 1 billion commitment, we are bringing healthcare closer to Ugandans, especially mothers, children, and working families,” Mudiwa said.
“Humanity Day is dfcu’s way of reaffirming that true progress is not only measured in profits, but in people; in every life made healthier, stronger, and more hopeful.”
Geoffrey Martin Kitakule, District Governor of Rotary District 9213, praised the partnership, highlighting Rotary’s recent success in Arua where a medical team, supported by dfcu, treated over 6,000 patients.
Under this initiative, dfcu Bank and Rotary Uganda will roll out health camps across the Bank’s 55-branch network, offering free screening, treatment, and counseling for cancer, diabetes, malaria, HIV, mental health, and other preventable illnesses.
