Ugandan communications professional Irene Nakasiita has been appointed to the Continental Advisory Committee of the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) — a prestigious global platform that brings together thought leaders, academics, and practitioners shaping the future of public relations and strategic communications.
Nakasiita, who currently serves as the Head of Communications and Public Relations at the Uganda Red Cross Society, announced the appointment in a statement expressing her gratitude and optimism about Africa’s growing voice in global PR circles.
“I am deeply honored to have been appointed to the 2026 World Public Relations Forum – Continental Advisory Committee. This is not just a personal milestone, but a moment that reflects the growth and recognition of African voices in global Public Relations,” Nakasiita said.
“I look forward to contributing, learning, and representing our continent with pride, passion, and professionalism,” she added.
The World Public Relations Forum, organized by the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, is one of the most influential gatherings in the communications industry.
Scheduled for 2026, the forum will bring together experts from over 60 countries to discuss emerging trends, ethics, digital transformation, and the role of communications in addressing global challenges.
The Continental Advisory Committee plays a vital role in shaping the forum’s agenda, ensuring regional representation, and promoting diversity in global communication practices.
Nakasiita’s appointment is seen as recognition of her contribution to humanitarian communication and crisis response, particularly during national emergencies in Uganda.
With the 2026 forum expected to spotlight purpose-driven communication and sustainability in PR, Nakasiita’s participation positions Uganda — and Africa at large — as a key voice in shaping the next chapter of global communication leadership.
