The recognition marks a significant achievement for PostBank Uganda and underscores the importance of strategic leadership and professional development in driving success.
PostBank Uganda’s finance team has been named the Finance Team of the Year at the prestigious Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) Awards. The accolade recognizes the team’s pivotal role in transforming the bank over the past four years.
Key among the team’s achievements is the successful delivery of an integrated financial report, which garnered multiple awards at previous ICPAU Financial Reporting Awards. Their commitment to professional development was also highlighted, with the team sponsoring members to pursue the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) course.
PostBank’s Chief Finance Officer, CPA Peter Ssenyange, attributed the win to the team’s dedication to aligning their efforts with the bank’s core values, which include teamwork, integrity, innovation, and passion. He reflected on the strategic decision made four years ago to build a competent leadership team with specific skill sets that would help drive the bank’s success.
“With the right talent onboard, we have achieved significant milestones that have allowed us to better serve our stakeholders while contributing to the prosperity of Ugandans through our services,” Ssenyange said.
The awards event also highlighted the broader contributions of individuals and organizations to Uganda’s accountancy profession. Speaking as the Chief Guest, Mercy Kainobwisho, Executive Director of the Uganda Registration Services Bureau, emphasized the importance of community engagement and environmental stewardship.
Kainobwisho urged a commitment to building stronger communities through respect for people, resources, and time, stressing the need for self-discipline and purpose in contributing to the greater good of society.
