Uganda’s industrial and logistics landscape is set for a major leap forward following the official unveiling of the Heli brand of forklifts and a state-of-the-art showroom by Double Q Uganda, in partnership with Anhui Heli Industrial Vehicle Import & Export Co., Ltd.

The launch, attended by government officials, industry players, and clients, marks the formal entry of the Heli brand—ranked among the top forklift manufacturers globally—into Uganda’s fast-growing market for material handling equipment.
Bruce Lin, Managing Director of Double Q Uganda, described the unveiling as a milestone in the company’s mission to provide comprehensive automotive and equipment solutions.
“Today we are proud to introduce the Heli brand of forklifts to Uganda and officially open our new showroom to the public. This strategic partnership allows us to deliver a complete range of forklifts, from one ton to 55 tons, offering reliable, efficient, and affordable solutions to industries across the country,” Lin said.

The new showroom, located in Kampala, will serve as both a sales and service hub, showcasing a diverse fleet of forklifts tailored for multiple sectors including manufacturing, logistics, construction, and warehousing. According to Lin, the facility will also function as a training and support center to equip operators and technicians with the skills needed to run and maintain the forklifts.
Frank Song, Global Director of Double Q, highlighted the significance of the launch in strengthening China–Uganda economic ties.
“Heli is not just a brand—it is a proven global leader in material handling. In China, it has held the number one position for more than 30 years, and globally, it ranks among the top seven. Bringing this level of technology and reliability to Uganda will contribute greatly to industrial development and logistics efficiency,” Song said.

Song noted that in less than two years of collaboration, Double Q and Heli forklifts have already gained over 50% market share in Uganda, underscoring the demand for modern, cost-effective equipment. He added that the showroom represents three major missions: displaying products, training professionals, and rolling out new energy solutions such as electric forklifts.
Richard Musani, Marketing Head at Double Q, underscored the environmental and economic benefits of Heli forklifts, particularly their electric models.
“These forklifts align perfectly with Uganda’s industrialization agenda and the shift toward sustainable mobility. Electric forklifts reduce emissions, cut fuel costs by up to one million shillings annually, and require less servicing compared to diesel-powered machines. We believe this launch comes at the right time to support both industrial efficiency and environmental conservation,” Musani said.

Double Q is also providing flexible financing solutions to ease acquisition. Customers can choose from in-house financing options, where payments are spread over 12 months, to bank financing arrangements with staggered terms, or direct cash purchases.
One of Uganda’s largest industrial players, Mukwano Group, testified to the value of the Heli brand during the launch.Businge Rwabogo, Operations Manager at Mukwano Group, said:
“We replaced Caterpillar with Heli forklifts and have not looked back. They are easy to operate, maintain, and deliver a strong return on investment. What makes a real difference is Double Q’s after-sales service—whenever there is an issue, their technical team responds quickly. That level of reliability is what businesses need.”

The launch also drew remarks from government representatives, who praised the partnership for aligning with Uganda’s industrial growth ambitions. Calls were made for tax incentives on logistics equipment to support industries adopting advanced technology.
Double Q, already established as a 360-degree automotive solutions provider—with a portfolio including heavy commercial trucks, road construction machinery, and passenger vehicles—now positions itself as a key player in material handling solutions.
As the country continues to push its industrialization agenda, the entry of the Heli brand is expected to reduce costs, improve logistics efficiency, and promote sustainability across sectors.
“This is more than a product launch; it is a promise of reliability, safety, and innovation. Through this partnership with Heli, we are confident Uganda’s industries will have access to the best material handling solutions available globally,”Bruce Lin concluded.
